    WeKnowIt was presented at the CIVR 2010 Practicioner's Day event on July 7th, 2010, in Xi'an, China. Yiannis Kompatsiaris gave a presentation entitled "WeKnowIt: Making the Collective Intelligence of Social Media Searchable".

  • e-Report idea presented at opengov.gr meeting

    The "e-Report" idea, based on WeKnowIt technologies, was presented at the 2nd labs.opengov.gr meeting (in Greek). It promotes citizens participation and contribution combined with large-scale content analysis and structuring for efficient addressing local and environmental problems.

  • Non-disclosure agreement between CERTH and Niobium Labs

    In the framework of WeKnowIt, CERTH-ITI has signed a Non-Disclosure-Agreement with Niobium Labs Ltd. for testing CERTH-ITI technologies developed within WeKnowIt, in Niobium Labs applications and data.

  • 2nd ACM Int. Workshop on Events in Multimedia

    WeKnowIt supports the organisation of the 2nd ACM Int. Workshop on Events in Multimedia (EiMM10), which will be held in cojunction with the ACM Multimedia 2010 conference in Firenze, Italy, October 25-29, 2010. The organizing commitee comprises Ansgar Scherp, Ramesh Jain, Mohan Kankanhalli, and Vasileios Mezaris.

  • Cooperation between CERTH-ITI and SBOING™

    SBOING™ and Informatics and Telematics Institute (ITI) of the Research and Technology-Hellas have agreed to investigate the development and evaluation of technologies for statistical analysis of large-scale navigation and tourism related data. The objective is to extract useful information in order to offer advanced navigation and travel services by analysing user contributed content.
  • WeKnowIt externally reviewed by Advisory Board

    WeKnowIt was externally reviewed during an Advisory Board meeting held in Karlsruhe on April 8th, in the context of the regular WKI consortium meeting (April 7-9). In the Advisory Board meeting, which lasted a whole working day, all second year's progress was presenteed and reviewed, and the Advisory Board memebers provided valuable feedback to the consortium.

    The Advisory Board comprised:

    Prof. Siegfried Handschuh, National University of Ireland, Galway, and
    Prof. Lars Schmidt-Thieme, University of Hildesheim

  • WeKnowIt in BAPCO

    WeKnowIt will participate with a booth to the BAPCO annual conference and exhibition, demonstrating the Emergency Response prototype to Emergency Repsonse professionals. The exhibition will take place on April 21-22 in Islington, London.
